In this tutorial I will show you how to build walls from a floor plan. You can find plenty of plans on the web so grab one and let's get to work!
Start in the Top View, with a Plane object and apply a material to it. The Diffuse map of this material put the bitmap image of the floor plan. Enable the Show Map in Viewport button & resize the plane to fit the image (keep the proportions).
Move the plane slightly lower on the Z axis and draw another plane, much smaller this time, which covers the width and height of a corner wall.
